What Does hipages Cost a Tradie in 2026?
$139 to $649 a month plus GST, on a 6 month term that renews for 12. We read the prices off hipages’ own page and its revenue per subscriber out of hipages’ own annual results, then did the maths.
hipages charges tradies $139, $249, $449 or $649 a month plus GST, depending on the plan. You join on a 6 month introductory term, so the cheapest plan is $917.40 including GST before you can walk away on the normal path. hipages’ own results put its revenue per Australian subscriber at $2,575 for the 2026 financial year. Leads are bought with credits, and hipages does not publish how many credits a lead costs.
The four plans, read off hipages
hipages sells four lead plans. Each one gives you a monthly allowance of credits, a listing in a set number of postcodes, and access to its job management app. All four prices below are plus GST, and we have added the GST and the 6 month total so you do not have to.
Starter $139, Advanced $249, Premium $449 and Platinum $649 a month, plus GST. Credits per month: 155, 310, 595 and 850. Postcodes: 1, 3, 5 and 10. Paying a year upfront takes 5% off.
| Plan | A month, incl GST | First 6 months, incl GST | Credits a month | Cost per credit, ex GST |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $152.90 | $917.40 | 155 | 90c |
| Advanced | $273.90 | $1,643.40 | 310 | 80c |
| Premium | $493.90 | $2,963.40 | 595 | 75c |
| Platinum | $713.90 | $4,283.40 | 850 | 76c |
One thing jumps out of that table. Platinum costs more per credit than Premium: 76.4c against 75.5c, before GST. What Platinum buys on top is reach, ten postcodes instead of five, not cheaper leads.
There is also a $29 plus GST Essentials plan. It is the job management app on its own, quoting, scheduling and invoicing, with no lead credits. It is not a way to get hipages leads cheaply.
What one lead actually costs
Nobody can tell you in advance, including hipages. Its own credits policy says the number of credits a lead needs depends on the trade, the location, the size of the job and supply and demand, and can change daily, weekly or monthly until the job is marked hired.
What you can work out is the dollar value of a credit, from the table above, and then the arithmetic that matters: how many leads it takes to win one job. hipages caps each lead at 3 businesses, so you are quoting against up to two others every time.
On Advanced a credit is worth about 80c before GST. If a job in your trade needed 40 credits, that lead cost you about $32. At 75 credits, about $60. If you win one job in three leads, your real cost per job won is three times that: roughly $96 or $181. The credit amounts here are made up for the example. Plug in your own from the app.
Why we will not quote a real number: hipages publishes no table of credits per lead, and the policy says the amount moves. Any article quoting a single “cost per lead” is quoting someone’s one month, in one trade, in one area.
What hipages earns from the average tradie
The list price is what a plan costs. The better number is what tradies actually end up paying, and hipages publishes it, because it is listed on the ASX and has to report to shareholders.
Australian subscription businesses: 33.0k at the end of June 2026. Average revenue per subscription business: $2,575 for the year, up 8% on the year before. hipages defines that as annual operating revenue divided by the average of the opening and closing number of subscription businesses.
$2,575 a year works out to about $215 a month. That sits between Starter ($1,668 a year before GST) and Advanced ($2,988). And it is revenue per business, not a plan price, so it counts everything hipages earned from those businesses, which can include extras on top of the plan.
An average below the Advanced price suggests most subscribers sit on Starter or Advanced, with discounts and pauses pulling the figure down and top ups pulling it up. If so, the headline prices on hipages’ page may be a fair guide to what a typical tradie spends.
What would change our mind: hipages publishing its plan mix, or showing that cheaper non lead subscriptions are counted in the average and drag it down.
The contract, and getting out of it
Every lead plan starts on a 6 month introductory term, then renews on a 12 month term. hipages says it will tell you before that renewal happens. You can cancel inside a seven day cooling off period, as long as you have not accepted any leads. Outside that, its pricing page says to contact support.
- No commission. hipages takes nothing from the jobs you win. You pay for the subscription and the credits.
- No setup fee. It is a monthly subscription with nothing upfront.
- Pausing. 14 to 31 days on the first term. On the 12 month term, up to two pauses or 62 days combined. The term is extended by the pause, so a pause moves your end date rather than ending the commitment.
- Credits expire. Unused credits roll over for 1 month on Starter and Advanced, 2 months on Premium and Platinum.
On ProductReview.com.au, hipages holds 3.7 out of 5 from 9,396 reviews (checked 6 October 2026). That mixes homeowners and tradies, and review sites lean negative because unhappy people post more readily. Among the tradie reviews, a reviewer reported being charged $900 to cancel, and several describe lead prices rising and leads that turned out to be people only collecting quotes. Those are individual accounts, not established facts about hipages. Read them yourself before you sign.
Is hipages worth it for tradies?
It can be. hipages puts real jobs in front of you without you building anything, takes no commission and limits each lead to 3 businesses. If you are new, have no website and no reviews, and you quote well, it is one of the fastest ways to get work coming in.
It gets expensive when your win rate is low, your trade is crowded in your area, or you have enough work and keep paying through quiet months anyway. The bigger catch is that you are renting the leads. The day you stop paying, they stop. The customer found you through hipages, so unless they kept your number, hipages is still the easiest way for them to find a tradie next time.
The honest test is one number: what you paid hipages last quarter divided by the jobs you won from it. If that is comfortably less than the profit on an average job, keep going. If you have never worked it out, the section below takes ten minutes.
The alternative: leads you own
The other way to get work is to be the business people find themselves, on Google, with a website and a Google Business Profile in your own name. A customer who finds you that way calls you, not three businesses, and costs you nothing extra per lead.
That is what we do, so read this part knowing we are selling it. Our plans are $237 a month for Essential, $487 for Growth and $887 for Dominate, with the website built free. Every plan is month to month, with no minimum term and no exit fee. We design your homepage first and show you, and you see it before you pay a cent. Growth and Dominate come with the 100 Day Guarantee.
We are not cheaper than what hipages earns from an average subscriber. $2,575 a year is about $215 a month, and our smallest plan is $237. The difference is what you keep: the domain and the Google profile stay in your name, and the website files are yours free after 12 paid months. And a website does not hand you leads on day one the way a marketplace does. It has to be found first, which is why plenty of tradies run both for a while and drop the one that stops paying its way.
We will not show you fifty logos we do not have. We have two live client sites, Entire Excavations in the Yarra Valley and ACE Davies Carpentry in Preston, and you can click through to both. For the full detail on what a website costs and what is included, see websites for tradies or compare our plans.
Work out your own cost per job
Open the hipages for business app and pull your last three months. You need four numbers.
- What you paid hipages in those three months, including any credit top ups.
- How many leads you accepted.
- How many of those turned into paid jobs.
- Your average profit on one of those jobs, not the invoice total.
Divide what you paid by the jobs you won. That is your real cost per job. If it eats most of the profit on a job, hipages is costing you more than it looks. If it is a small slice, it is doing its job. Either way you now know, instead of guessing.
Methodology: where these numbers come from
Plan prices, credits, postcodes, rollover, pause rules, the cooling off period and the 5% upfront discount were read directly off hipages’ membership costs page on 6 October 2026. The credit rules come from hipages’ job leads and credits policy, read the same day.
The revenue per subscriber and the number of subscribers come from hipages Group’s FY26 full year investor presentation, lodged with the ASX on 24 August 2026, using the Australia figures rather than the group figures, which include New Zealand.
Every GST, six month, yearly and per credit figure is our own arithmetic on those published prices, worked to the cent and rounded only for display. The review rating was read off ProductReview.com.au on 6 October 2026.
Limitations
- Prices change. These were correct on 6 October 2026. Check hipages’ page before you sign anything.
- We cannot see what a lead costs in your trade and area. hipages does not publish it, and it moves.
- The $2,575 average is revenue per subscriber. It is not a plan price and it hides a wide range.
- The review rating mixes homeowners and tradies. Individual reviews are one person’s account.
- We sell websites, which compete with hipages for a tradie’s marketing budget. We have kept the hipages figures to hipages’ own published numbers so you can check every one.

hipages Questions.
Is hipages free for tradies?
No. Listing your business and receiving leads needs a paid plan, from $139 a month plus GST on Starter up to $649 on Platinum. The only cheaper option is the $29 plus GST Essentials plan, which is the job management app on its own with no lead credits.
How much does hipages cost per month?
$139, $249, $449 or $649 a month plus GST, which is $152.90 to $713.90 including GST. Those were the prices on hipages’ own page on 6 October 2026. Paying a year upfront takes 5% off.
Does hipages take a commission on jobs?
No. hipages charges no commission on the jobs you win. You pay the monthly subscription, and leads are paid for with the credits that come with it, plus any extra credit packs you top up with.
Can I cancel hipages at any time?
Not on the normal path. Plans start on a 6 month introductory term and then renew for 12 months. You can cancel in the seven day cooling off period if you have not accepted a lead; after that, hipages says to contact its support team.
How many credits does a hipages lead cost?
It varies, and hipages does not publish a table. Its policy says credits per lead depend on trade, location, job size and demand, and can change daily. A credit is worth 75c to 90c before GST depending on your plan, so check your own leads in the app.
What is the alternative to hipages?
Being found directly, through your own website and Google Business Profile. A customer who finds you calls only you and costs nothing extra per lead, but it takes time to build. Many tradies run both for a while and keep whichever pays its way.
