Websites for painters that keep the quotes coming.
We checked 439 Australian painting business websites. Most are losing local work to fixable problems. Here is what we build instead, and exactly what it costs.
Most painter websites make the same mistakes
In August 2026 we pulled the websites of 439 Australian painting businesses and read their homepage titles, descriptions and review counts. The same problems kept repeating: 22% have no Google reviews at all, 52% have no meta description (the text under the blue link in Google results), and of the 175 we could test, only 16% named their own suburb in their homepage title.
A painter in Templestowe Lower titling their site “Commercial Painters Melbourne” is competing with every painter in the city instead of owning their own suburb. The full findings are in our study, Local SEO for Tradies: We Checked 2,444 Websites.
Painting sells on proof
A painting job is judged with the eyes. Before and after photos, a clean gallery and visible reviews do more convincing than any paragraph of text. We build painter websites around that proof, with click-to-call front and centre for the customer who is ready now.
Built for Melbourne painters
We are Melbourne based and we only take one painter per area, so we are never selling against our own clients. The suburb you actually work in is the thing we build the site around.
Our study included 1,404 Victorian trade websites we could test. Only 19% named their own suburb in the homepage title. A painter in Templestowe Lower running “Commercial Painters Melbourne” is fighting every painter in the city rather than winning the jobs on their own doorstep.
We build for the suburb first, then the region around it. Whether your work comes from the period homes through Fitzroy and Carlton, the family homes out east in Glen Waverley and Blackburn, the bayside strip through Hampton and Mentone, or the newer estates out in Point Cook and Tarneit, the site names the places your customers actually type.
Painting demand in Melbourne also swings with the weather. Exteriors get booked through the warmer, drier months and interiors carry the winter. A site that lists both, clearly, keeps the enquiries coming when one side of the work goes quiet.
What we build for painters
Customers search the job they need done: interior painting, exterior painting, roof painting. Our recommendation is a separate page for each service you want more of, plus a Google Business Profile set up properly so you show up on the map when someone nearby searches.

Painter website questions.
How much does a painter website cost?
Our pricing is public: Essential is $199 a month and Growth is $299 a month, with the $3,000 setup fee currently waived on the founding offer. You see the finished website before you pay anything, and there is no lock-in contract.
What pages should a painting website have?
Our recommendation is a separate page for each service you want more of, such as interior painting, exterior painting, commercial painting and roof painting. Customers search the specific job, and a dedicated page gives each one a chance to rank.
How do painters show up on Google Maps?
Through a properly set up Google Business Profile: correct categories, services, service areas, photos and a steady flow of genuine reviews. Nobody can pay Google for a better organic local ranking, so the work is making your profile the strongest honest candidate in your area.
Do you only work with painters in Melbourne?
We are Melbourne based and focus on greater Melbourne, and we only take one painter per area so we are never competing against our own clients. If you are outside Melbourne, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
What did your research find about painter websites?
We checked 439 Australian painting businesses that already had a website. 22% had no Google reviews, 52% had no meta description, and of the 175 we could test, only 16% named their own suburb in the homepage title.
Do before and after photos matter on a painting website?
Enormously. Painting is judged with the eyes, so a clean before and after gallery does more convincing than any block of text. We build the gallery into the site and make it easy to keep adding jobs.
