a real one, live in Preston
The short version
Plenty of customers look you up online before they pick up the phone. If your site looks dated, loads slowly, or doesn't exist, that job quietly goes to a competitor, and you never even knew it was up for grabs.
We design websites specifically for trade businesses: clean, fast, and built around one job, getting the right customers to contact you. No bloated templates, no design award fluff, just a site that earns its keep.

Before
After
Our portfolio has the before and after of two real client sites you can open yourself. The first is Entire Excavations in the Yarra Valley, live since 27 July 2026. The second is ACE Davies Carpentry Co in Preston, above.
Two is all we have so far, and we would rather show you two you can check than fifty logos.
Built for the phone first
The person looking for a tradie is usually on a phone, often standing in the middle of the problem. If your site isn't built for that screen first, the call goes to the next result before anyone reads a word. Every site we build is mobile first, with tap to call front and centre.
51%
of Australian tradie websites hide the phone number on a mobile, measured by us across 391 live sites.
That is half the trade losing the call before it is made. Source: our own study, September 2026. 391 live sites measured from a sample of 500.
Our own research
In September 2026 we took a sample of 500 Australian tradie websites on a real phone, the exact sites Google lists as each business's website, and measured whether you could tap the number without scrolling. Of the 391 still live, 199 could not, and 72 of the 463 we tried were dead, expired or redirecting somewhere else entirely.
We cut that data by trade. The gap between trades is bigger than the headline.
| Trade | Sites checked | Number visible without scrolling | No tappable number at all |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plumber | 32 | 78% | 9% |
| Pest control | 12 | 75% | 8% |
| Electrician | 34 | 68% | 18% |
| Fence contractor | 12 | 67% | 25% |
| Painter | 17 | 53% | 24% |
| Roofing contractor | 14 | 50% | 7% |
| Concrete contractor | 14 | 43% | 36% |
| Cabinet maker | 15 | 40% | 40% |
| Tree service | 14 | 36% | 21% |
| Custom home builder | 14 | 36% | 14% |
| Landscaper | 18 | 33% | 44% |
| Construction company | 10 | 30% | 40% |
| Home builder | 31 | 29% | 32% |
Group them the way a customer behaves and it is a 32 point gap. Trades people ring in an emergency, so plumbers, electricians, roofers, tree and pest, get a tappable number on screen 65% of the time (106 sites). Trades people plan for, so builders, construction firms, cabinet makers and carpenters, manage 33% (76 sites), and 32% of them have no tappable number anywhere on the page.
Honest limits. The urgent and considered grouping is ours, not an industry standard. These per trade figures come from the 243 sites whose individual measurements we published row by row, not all 391. That subset reads 51% visible and 24% with no number at all, against 49% and 23% for the full sample, so it tracks. Trades with fewer than 10 sites are left out.
Before you go cheap
Usually a template with the phone number in the wrong place, copy that would suit any business in any state, and no page for the service you actually want to be found for. The design is rarely the problem. The problem is that nothing on it is about you.
The cheapest route is a builder subscription, and that has its own ending. When we opened 500 Australian tradie websites, the dead ones were full of expired site builder accounts still listed on Google as the business's website, plus a handful of lapsed domains that had been picked up by someone else entirely. We wrote up exactly what we found and how many rather than repeating the numbers here.
The six things that usually go wrong, with the method and the limitations
No fine print
The questions a sensible tradie asks before paying a small business every month. Straight answers.
$237 a month on Essential, $487 on Growth, $887 on Dominate, with no setup fee for the website. One predictable price with hosting, security and maintenance already in it.
Nothing. No deposit. We design your homepage and show you. You only pay once you are happy with it and you want us to build the rest of your site.
Any time. Every plan is month to month. No lock in contract and no exit fee. We would rather earn it each month than trap you in a year.
You do. We help you register a new one or point the one you already have, and it stays in your name.
Yes, your homepage design. We design it and show you, and a round of changes is included to get it right. You only pay once you are happy with it and you want us to build the rest of your site. If you still do not like it, you walk away owing nothing, with no deposit paid.
Yes. We design a new homepage for you first and show you, and nothing changes on your current site until you approve it. Once you are happy, we build the rest and switch your domain over, with no deposit paid beforehand.
We build custom coded sites rather than WordPress, because they load faster and there are no plugins to keep patched. Our team has experience with WordPress and other platforms, so if you already have one we can tell you honestly whether it is worth keeping or rebuilding.
Design, copy, build and launch. You get a mobile first site with a tappable phone number at the top, a page for each service you want to be found for, your real photos and reviews, a working enquiry form, and your Google Business Profile set up alongside it. The pricing page lists exactly what sits in each plan.
Ours is $237 a month on Essential, $487 on Growth and $887 on Dominate, with no setup fee for the website. There is no upfront build cost and you see your homepage designed before you pay anything. We have also written up what tradie websites cost in Australia more broadly, including what a one off quote usually leaves out.
If you want a Google Business Profile that ranks and customers who arrive already convinced, yes. The profile gets you into the map results, but the website is what they check before they ring, and it is the only part of your online presence you actually own. If all your work comes from repeat customers and referrals, you need one less than most.
You see your homepage design within 48 hours. Once you say yes, you are live within 7 days. You send the basics and any photos you have, and we write the words and handle the hosting.
You own the domain, the content and your Google profile. We host and maintain the site on the monthly plan, and you can leave any time with no exit fee, taking your domain and content with you. The website files are yours free after 12 paid months.
If you built your own site on a builder like Wix or Squarespace and it already brings in calls, keep it. A builder costs less a month, but you do the design, the words and the fixes yourself, and the site goes offline if the subscription lapses. Done for you, ours is from $237 a month with design, hosting and fixes handled, and the domain stays in your name either way.
Yes, and on our own numbers builders need it more than most. Home builders showed a tappable phone number on screen only 29% of the time across the 31 sites we measured, the lowest of any trade in the table above. A builder's site also has to carry finished project photos and the suburbs you build in, which a template rarely does.
We build for every trade. These pages go deeper on what works for specific ones, including our own research on that trade's websites.
