The full, plain-English rules for the 5 Star Tradie Partner (Referral) Program. This page is what you agree to when you tick the box on the sign-up form.

The Partner Program is free and open to anyone 18 or over — individuals or businesses. There's no cost to join, no minimum referral requirement, and no ongoing obligation. Becoming a Partner does not make you an employee, agent, or contractor of 5 Star Tradie or Syddall & Co. You operate independently, on your own time.
You're credited as the referrer when a new client names you (by your unique referrer code) when they sign up. Rewards are paid in stages, tied to the referred client remaining an active subscriber:

If a referred client cancels before a milestone, you keep everything already paid but don't receive later milestone payments for that client. Volume bonuses (paid once a referral has been retained a full 12 months) and ongoing residual tiers are as published on the main Partner Program page, and form part of these Terms.
Each milestone payment is processed once we've confirmed the referred client's payment has actually cleared — generally within 7 days of that payment landing in our account. This buffer protects both sides: it means we never chase you to return a payment because a client's card failed or they cancelled immediately after signing up.
The first time a payment is due to you, we'll email you directly to confirm your bank details so we can pay you. If a referred client stops paying us before a milestone is reached, we'll let you know so you can follow up with them directly if you'd like to — that's on you, not us, but we'll always keep you in the loop.
Australian tax law requires businesses to withhold tax from payments to suppliers who don't provide an ABN, unless that supplier is a private individual not carrying on an enterprise. Most Partners fall into that second category — you're referring people you know, not running a referral business.
This declaration is what allows us to pay you in full, without withholding tax, for as long as it remains accurate.
Once you reach 15 successful referrals (15 different clients signed up quoting your code), we'll ask you to provide an ABN before we process any further payments — including your 15-referral volume bonus and anything beyond it. At that volume, the activity looks less like a casual introduction and more like an ongoing enterprise, and we want to stay squarely on the right side of ATO rules, for your protection as much as ours.
Getting an ABN is free and usually takes about 5–10 minutes via the Australian Business Register. You don't need to be an Australian citizen — most visa holders permitted to work or run a business in Australia are eligible, provided you hold a Tax File Number. If you're not sure whether your visa allows this, check with the Department of Home Affairs before applying.
We'll always give you advance notice and a straightforward link before this applies to you — nobody gets caught out or has a payment held back without warning.
Credit goes to whoever the new client names as their referrer — first name given, no splitting rewards between multiple people who claim the same client. Referral rewards apply to our Essential, Growth, and Enterprise website packages; other products may sit outside this program unless we say otherwise.
We may update these Terms or the reward structure from time to time. If we do, we'll give existing Partners reasonable notice and won't retroactively reduce rewards already earned for referrals made under the previous terms.
