🌱 Websites for Mowing & Lawn Care

Websites for mowing and lawn care that fill the run.

Most trade websites are built to win one big job. A mowing website has a different job: turn a one-off cut into a fortnightly customer, on a street you already drive down. That is what we build for.

Mowing is a round, not a job

A builder can live off six jobs a year. You cannot. Your business is a route — a list of properties close enough together that you can do them all in a day without burning the morning in the van.

That changes what the website is for. It is not there to win one impressive job. It is there to do three things: get found by someone whose lawn is already too long, answer whether you cover their street, and make the regular booking feel easier than the one-off.

Most mowing websites we see do the first one badly and the other two not at all. They read like a landscaping brochure — a gallery of finished gardens, a contact form, and nothing that tells a person on Roberts Road whether you will actually turn up there every second Tuesday.

What we build every mowing site around

Three questions, answered above the fold

  • Do you do my street? Named suburbs, not “servicing Melbourne and surrounds”.
  • How often do you come? Weekly, fortnightly, monthly or one-off, stated plainly.
  • What will it cost me? A real starting price or a range, not “contact for a quote”.

They are standing in the front yard when they search

Lawn work is decided fast. Someone looks at the grass on a Saturday morning, gets annoyed, and searches on their phone. 76% of people who search for a business nearby on a phone visit one within 24 hours (Think with Google). They are not researching. They are picking.

Which means a tappable phone number near the top of the page is not a design preference, it is the whole point. If a customer has to pinch, zoom and hunt for a number, the next listing in the results gets the call instead. We put the number where a thumb already is, on every page, and make it dial on tap.

The same logic applies to your Google reviews. In our own analysis of Australian trade businesses, between 13% and 30% had no Google reviews at all, depending on the trade. In a round-based business where people are handing you a key to the side gate, reviews are the whole trust argument. We build the review request into the site and the profile rather than leaving it to memory.

Built for the suburbs you actually drive to

Route density is the difference between a good week and a wasted one. A customer twenty minutes off your run costs you more than they pay. So the website should be pulling in work where you already are.

We build real suburb pages for the areas you want more of, not a list of ninety suburbs in the footer that Google ignores and customers never read. Each one names the area, the kind of blocks in it, and what you charge to be there — which is also what makes it rank for someone searching “lawn mowing” plus their suburb.

If you want to grow a particular pocket, the site is how you do it. If you want to stop getting calls from forty minutes away, the site is how you do that too.

Spring does not wait for you to be ready

Mowing demand in Melbourne is brutally seasonal. The phone is quiet through winter and then the first warm week arrives and everyone remembers their lawn at once. A website that goes live in November has missed the part of the year that pays for the rest of it.

The work that makes you visible in spring — the pages, the profile, the reviews, the suburb coverage — takes weeks to be picked up by Google. That is a reason to build in the off-season, not in the rush.

Mowing website questions.

How much does a mowing or lawn care website cost?

Our pricing is public: Essential is $199 a month and Growth is $299 a month in Australian dollars, with the $3,000 setup fee currently waived on the founding offer. You see the finished website before you pay anything, and there is no lock-in contract.

I get all my work from word of mouth. Why do I need a website?

Word of mouth still ends in a search. Someone gets your name from a neighbour, types it into their phone, and decides from what comes back. Without a site they land on whatever Google chooses — a directory, a competitor, or nothing. The site is where a referral becomes a booking.

Can the site take bookings, or just enquiries?

Either. For most mowing businesses we start with a fast enquiry form and a tap-to-call number, because a form that asks for a preferred day and a rough block size filters out the time-wasters without losing the easy jobs. Online booking with a calendar can be added once your round is stable enough to commit to slots.

Should I put my prices on the site?

A starting price or a range, yes. “From $55 for a standard suburban block” stops the calls you do not want and wins the ones you do. Customers who see no price at all assume it is expensive, and most of them do not ring to find out.

I do gardening and rubbish removal too. Does that confuse it?

No, as long as the site leads with one thing. We make mowing the front door because that is what people search for most, then give the extras their own space. A customer who already trusts you with the lawn is the easiest person alive to sell a hedge trim to.

How long before it brings in work?

The site itself goes live in about a week. Being found for “lawn mowing” plus a suburb takes longer — usually a couple of months of the profile, reviews and pages compounding. Anyone promising page one in a fortnight is guessing.

What do you actually need from me?

Your suburbs, your prices, how often you run, and photos of real lawns you have cut. That is genuinely it. We write the rest and show you a draft before anything goes live.
